We stopped in on a weekday and immediately get a great vibe both inside and outside. The patio is welcoming and the design inside is cool! The service was excellent and we enjoyed a cider, beer, and grape flatbread. I'm looking forward to coming back, and would bring someone from out of town here for a good brew and bite to eat.

Tacos are well priced but very small. I would recommend getting them as an appetizer or to share with someone as a filler. With that said, the food was well made and I enjoyed my experience! If you think the price is right and COVID allows, I highly recommend!

Went back for lunch before catching a flight and then again this place didn't disappoint. The restaurant was pretty much empty so service was faster than usual . Again we ordered our faves , the California sandwich , beet and goat cheese salad and a side of mc and cheese. This time I wasn't a fan of the mc and cheese , it was too dry and lacking of flavor , however we also ordered a pretzel and it was pretty damn good and huge !

5 star rating! This was my second time at this restaurant. Enjoyed the atmosphere, location, staff friendliness and the food/service. I ordered the Cobb salad. It comes loaded with yummy stuff including chicken. Waitress was prompt and checked in on us frequently. My food was great- such a large portion I took the other half home. If I'm downtown Oak Park, check this place out!

BRUNCH'D UP One of my favorite go-to's in the Oak Park area has recently experienced some kitchen gaffes and service slip-ups. On a recent stop for dinner on a Wednesday -- which feature half priced bottle of wine! -- we ordered a series of small plates, including a delicious baked goat cheese ($8) in a WONDERFUL spicy tomato sauce with toasted crostinis and kalamata olives. Separately we also got a salted pretzel ($5) which came with honey mustard and beer fondue. Interestingly, it's listed on the menu as "hot buttered pretzels" but there was only one large. Methinks they need to update this, as previously it was two smaller pretzels instead of a single biggun'. A charcuterie board ($16 for a mix-n-match variety) was made to order with salami, blue cheese, aged white cheddar, brie, served with seasoned pecans, almond slivers and honey. The seared ahi tuna ($11) came with a nice cucumber and daikon coleslaw with a tasty passion fruit vinaigrette. Pretty good stuff. The big swing and a miss were the fish tacos (2 for $6). Though they came with corn salsa and avocado slices, they were horrendously dry and devoid of any flavor whatsoever. It was an outright 'bleecchh!' that left Nichole C and I appalled. 0/10 would order again. Fortunately brunch on Sunday was a step up......for food. Her belgian waffle ($11) was topped with fresh blueberries, served with whipped butter and maple syrup. It was nice & fluffy in texture, just like a quality b-waff ought to be! Mimosas were $5 and tasty. My choice of two eggs + pork hash ($12) tasted far better than it looked. It came with crispy bacon and some breakfast potatoes with a small helping of pulled pork, side of whole grain toast. It would've been nice had there been other options for toast, but whatever. Bread = 4.5 Circuses = 3.5 On said brunch visit, our server dropped the ball a few times. He forgot sugar with NC's coffee, and I had to remind him about the toast that accompanied my egg entreé, along with moments when he was gone at length. It's possible my girlfriend is a bad luck charm (sorry dear!) when it comes to eating at LSKB, since my last two visits have witnessed a lapse in diligent waitstaff and one unusually sh*tty menu item. However, the daily specials are a great perk and Sporcle Live trivia is hosted every Monday night. Lake Street Kitchen & Bar is nevertheless a solid place, if perhaps a few steps down from where I had them held in super high regard a year ago. Still recommended!
